From branding to the annual report: Bank Rossiya

Bank Rossiya, integrated branding, finance

It always makes us happy when clients place their trust in us again and again. That is exactly the kind of relationship we have built with Bank Rossiya.

Our team carried out integrated branding for the bank, updated the logo and corporate identity, developed the website, annual report, corporate calendar and gift merchandise for New Year and 8 March, and also created an advertising campaign and the interior design of the client offices.

We share the results in this case.

Situation

The key goal of the project was to shape the perception of Bank Rossiya as a universal bank with a wide range of intuitive services in a modern technological shell. At the same time, it was important to preserve its reputation as a reliable partner with the highest level of service, a flexible approach and a prudent financial policy. This is exactly what we reflected in the visual identification system of a brand with a long history. More details in the case!

Audit

Bank Rossiya means status and history, which is important to take into account both when updating the brand and when creating an advertising campaign. A small spoiler: that is precisely why the stars of St. Petersburg's Channel Five became its faces.

Strategy

In working with the brand, we took into account the bank's status and its rich history. Behind every achievement of the company there are people: proactive, interesting, passionate. It was important to emphasise the scale of the Bank's activities and its mission, and to reflect the current state of affairs and the organisation's development strategy.

It was decided to adjust the brand platform and values, and we also developed a new corporate identity. The insight behind the work was the use of the colours of the Russian tricolour, presented in a contemporary interpretation. The implementation of a unified strategy made it possible to build the reputation of a universal financial institution that is convenient to work with for both individuals and businesses.

We proposed keeping the corporate colours, but "deepened" the shade of blue, making it more "solid". When promoting the bank's image as a whole, as well as its corporate and retail lines of business, the colours are combined in different ways. Thus, for the retail line, red predominates in the gradient, while for the corporate line it is blue.

Solution

For Bank Rossiya, our team also developed the principles for zoning the bank's premises, a unified navigation system, a generalised customer service scheme and the functional content of each zone. We thought through the interior idea and selected furniture, lighting and finishing materials individually for each zone, yet our design is adaptable to the bank's different offices of any size.

In turn, the interior solution was to include the use of simple forms, modern materials and technologies, and the accented integration of the corporate colours and other corporate identity elements into the structure of the interior.

We developed the brand platform taking into account the changes to the corporate identity. Since the terms of the bank's services change, the bank develops its product line and integrates the characters of its advertising campaigns into the website, a modular scheme had to be used when constructing the site. The screensaver, developed in line with the updated brand style, serves as one of the visible elements of the brand's implementation in the internal environment.

Especially for the updated website, we prepared text and graphic blocks with different designs, which the administrator could subsequently use in the course of actively running the site. This set makes it possible to make updates promptly and present up-to-date information. We tentatively called this scheme the "puzzle".
